Marion Howard
Fine Art
When Marion realized she could express herself with oil on canvas, nothing could stop her desire to capture the light. Her dedication to an impressionistic sensibility while being truthful to nature is the reason for her extensive travels. She seeks the right scene to involve the viewer in her vision.
Marion has developed a style of both thick and transparent paint, using layers of colors to illustrate her vision of shape and shadow. Her desire to be true to nature drives each expression of the brush and palette knife. “As an artist, I want to share the vision of what I see. I know that if I can capture the light at any given moment I am also capturing the life and the warmth of the scene. If I am successful in that, then I know I am bringing my vision to the viewer.”
Marion has participated in classes and workshops with notable artists such as Guido Frick, Joseph Lorusso, Robert Moore, Anne Templeton and Sylvia Trybek,. She continues to hone her craft by studying with William Kalwick and Carol Slobin.
